Character Info:

Full Name: Aeryn Sun
Called By: Aeryn, Officer Sun
Age: The human equivalent of early 30s
Canon: Farscape (more info than you could possibly want right HERE
History: HERE I'm taking her from right after s3ep5, after Zhaan has died but before John is twinned.

Personality:
Aeryn is very much a woman in flux. While she was a dedicated soldier and fighter pilot before fate brought her aboard Moya, there has always been something different about her, a capacity for love and compassion that is considered by Peacekeepers as not only unusual but also weak. Despite her dedication to discipline and her resulting exemplary record in her career as a Peacekeeper, that love and compassion has come to the forefront on a couple occasions. Once when she fell in love with a man in her detail (a love she decided to sabotage by turning him in as a traitor), and once when she spoke up for Crichton soon after meeting him, when he had been accused of killing the brother of Captain Bialar Crais. Aeryn knew that it was an accident, and said so, but the Captain would not believe her, instead declaring her "irreversibly contaminated," thus forcing her to flee with Crichton and the other escaped prisoners on Moya.

She kept to her training at first, maintaining a cold demeanor and making decisions based solely on rational considerations, and even now she retains many of the qualities she developed as a Peacekeeper, such as courage, determination, decisiveness. However, the longer she's been with Moya and her crew, the more situations have pushed her to recognize and acknowledge her capacity to be more than what she was trained to be. She has come to care for the others aboard Moya, and to fight for them and alongside them out of friendship and loyalty, instead of just duty. It's something that has changed the way she deals with the people they have encountered as well. She's found herself actually caring for people, wanting to help them and protect them.

It's something that is still new and tentative to her, though. She's found herself falling in love with John Crichton, the human whose defense cost her everything she'd ever known. She's been cagey about admitting it, about showing it, because it makes her vulnerable, and when she has loved in the past it has gone badly. And when she was finally able to admit her love to John, he was compromised by an enemy chip in his brain at the time, and the chip led him to attack Aeryn, then cripple her prowler in mid-flight, ultimately causing her death.

Aeryn was brought back by Zhaan, one of the crew members aboard Moya. The action sapped Zhaan of her life force, eventually killing her. Aeryn has pulled back, gone cold again, not wanting to ever be in another situation where someone gave their life for hers, particularly if that someone was John. But she's finding that she can't stay cold, can't stay away, and she's been slowly warming again, toward her crew mates, toward the people they encounter, and especially toward John.

Powers: None
Special Skills: She can fly a prowler (and any other ship), shoot a pulse pistol, and take down an opponent in hand-to-hand combat.
Anything else?: Like all sebaceans, she is vulnerable to heat, and high temperatures can cause a condition called Heat Delirium, which, if left untreated, can lead to an irreversible coma-like state called the Living Death.

Action Tag Sample:
[The comm flickers to life, showing Aeryn, comm held in one hand to shoot video of herself, and pulse pistol in the other hand for a totally different kind of shooting. She's moving down the hall, alert to anything around her]

To whoever can hear this...my prowler has been drawn in by your ship. If this has been by mistake, then it is easily rectified. Release my ship, and I will be on my way.

[She reaches a corner, and pauses at it, back to the wall. She takes a quick look around the corner, and, satisfied nothing waits to surprise her, rounds it and continues moving.]

If, however, you have drawn me in with hostile intent, you should be warned that such things have been tried before, and they have never ended well. Release me, or I will show you exactly what has happened to those who have tried.
